Happy Valentine's Day

With the Sock Puppet Theatre actors on strike, or sick, or unavailable to perform, or to appear in  a Valentine's Day special, stand in's are drafted. After all,  they're still made of the same yarn.

"Hoping your Valentine's Day is filled with happiness. And remember, we can all use a friend."

"Wishing you a day filled with love and friendship."

"I get dibs on all the leftover candy!"

"Happy Valentine's Day!"

"There's plenty of bicarb and the pink stuff on hand for upset tummies!"

I took an online class to learn how to crochet stuffed animals, and decided to make dolls out of our favorite fellows instead, using of all things, a little piggy pattern, simply omitting the ears, tail, and snout.

The 'Lee' doll was my first, and is smaller than the rest, due to the weight of the yarn I used.
The uniform was a bit difficult as I had no basic pattern to follow so they're a bit piecemeal. The uniform stripes don't show up very well, but good enough that you can recognize our boys.

I had to paste stars on Nelson's collar, as there weren't any star buttons I could use.

I wasn't able to find any greenish gold hazel eyes for Lee, but did have blue for Nelson and Chip. I used a clear sort of gray for Doc. Believe it or not, he actually has some stray strands of hair but they didn't show up on the pictures. But hey, I'm new at this,

I didn't have a pattern for the octopus so used  a basic head pattern and for the tentacles some double crochet sewn together and lazy circles for the suckers...a bit primitive, and I didn't have the eyes when I made it.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
